Bali airport to Ubud: route & travel time
The drive is 37 km and normally takes 1 hr 15 min to 1 hr 45 min. The first half follows the bypass around the southern coast, then the road turns inland and climbs through the rice terraces and jungle villages that sit between the airport and Ubud.
Delays are most common in the late afternoon and early evening, when tour buses and local traffic share the narrow two-lane road into Ubud. Rainy-season showers, roughly November to March, can add fifteen to twenty minutes on the winding section.
What happens when you land
- 1
Meet at a fixed point
Before you fly, we agree the meeting point in the arrivals hall. Both international and domestic arrivals end on the same ground level, so the meetup is the same either way.
- 2
Find your driver
Your driver holds a board with your name and helps with the luggage from the meeting point to the car.
- 3
Drive straight to your villa
One car, one destination. The driver takes the route we agreed and drops you at your accommodation, including villas outside central Ubud.
Airport to Ubud: price and what’s included
One fixed price, confirmed on WhatsApp before you fly. No taxi queue at arrivals, no surge pricing, no negotiation with a meter. The longer the route, the more a fixed price matters, and Ubud is our longest.
Every transfer includes
- Private car and driver
- Airport pickup and parking
- Fuel and tolls
- Luggage assistance
- Price confirmed before you fly
Why the Ubud route is different
Ubud sits several hundred metres higher than the airport, so the transfer ends with winding roads and jungle rather than coast highway. Evenings are noticeably cooler than the south, and accommodation is spread across Sayan, Penestanan, Kedewatan, and the road toward Tegallalang. That spread is exactly why a private car, rather than a taxi from the arrivals queue, is the reliable way to arrive.
- Winding uphill road
- Cooler evenings
- Villas outside the centre

Airport transfer to Ubud: FAQ
How long is the transfer from Bali Airport to Ubud?
About 1 hr 15 min to 1 hr 45 min for the 37 km route. Traffic on the final stretch into Ubud is heaviest from mid-afternoon to early evening.
Do you pick up from late-night flights to Ubud?
Yes, night pickups are available depending on driver availability. Send your flight number and arrival time before booking and we confirm the pickup around your landing.
Can you take us to a villa outside central Ubud?
Yes. For villas in Sayan, Penestanan, Kedewatan, or on the road to Tegallalang, send the exact location or a Google Maps pin when booking and we confirm the route and price before you fly.
Which vehicle suits a family arriving with luggage?
Tell us the number of adults, children, and luggage pieces when booking. Families with several large bags are better in a vehicle with a bigger boot, and we recommend one up front.
